My Brief Career As A Stuntman!

I have decided to stick with my day job :)

I was riding my bike back to work at the end of my lunch hour, and as I turned off the bike trail onto the street (just north of my place of employment), the front wheel crumpled!

As I was travelling at a fairly high speed (for a bicycle :P), I flew over the handlebars, landing on my forehead, both hands, and both knees.
I rolled back and forth for a minute, unable to turn over or sit up. Fortunately, no cars were in the vicinity.

A nice couple stopped to see if I was alright and if they could help. After a bit, I was able to get up, drag my bike across the street, and clock in. I wasn't much help for about 20 minutes, and I still hurt (this happened last Tuesday). I think all the hours I work are taking a toll on my body.

It certainly could have been worse - I only ended up with a scraped & bruised palm, one slashed & gashed palm, a cut eyebrow & lump on my forehead, and two bruised & bloody knees.
Oh, and my glasses are a bit worse for the wear - three (new) scratches & a bent nosepiece (which was re-bendable).
I thank God my teeth are intact, and no bones were broken.

A friend said "It's too bad you don't have a desk job so you could sit, instead of having to work so hard", but I am thankful (sorta :S) since I'd probably be hurting a lot more if I was a softie :)

Yeah, still trying to see the silver linings.
