Hot Topic = Will Ferrell
Last Sunday (Easter/Resurrection Sunday, of all days), I was at my mom's house for an informal dinner (we ate ham sandwiches and potato salad, among other things, sitting on couches & recliners in the living room! :) ).
After we were full & satisfied (and everyone but my mom & I had taken a nap (though we'd both been awake since 5am or so!)), we watched "Blades of Glory".
I find some of Will Ferrell's endeavors humorous, but really don't care for him. A friend of mine, however, can't get enough... Oh, well, another difference between us - as if we needed another!
I had no desire to watch it, and I'd seen the video on YouTube (and on somebody's blog ;) ) featuring Bo-Bo, so I was content...
Soooooooooo, the movie had funny moments, but lots of crude, homosexually-charged humor & sight gags, plenty of sexual references & moments, and plenty of other disturbing elements had me cringing often (add to all that the fact I was sitting across from my mom!). There were so many references I was embarrassed to be hearing/seeing, comforted only by hoping no-one else caught on!
So, if you're a Ferrell fan, you know what to expect. Otherwise, read this family-friendly review from Plugged In, and think (and pray) seriously about it.
Yeah, my two cents :)
